Redeeming Merdeka.
Merdeka may mean
Sovereignty and a robust economy
In the world's boiling pot
Measured by the bourse's percentages
In the jaws of omnipotent capitalism
Lest only empty slogans remain
Taunting the village children , they plead and cry
Together with the city dwellers, suffering
The divide between income and spending
Who will measure the difference
Between the lives of the masters and those below
Is it sufficient that they continue to live
Merely hanging on to old promises and colourful pictures
As their world remain grey ?
